Cameroon – Information Systems for Agricultural Risk Management

Abstract:

This policy brief presents key highlights on IS-ARM in the context of Cameroon. It first provides a snapshot of the existing information systems and information sources; proceed to weigh the strengths and weaknesses; and put forward recommendations for further action.

The brief indicates that national information systems in Cameroon (including INSC and the MINADER) have detailed agricultural risk related information across different thematic areas and on diverse agricultural commodities. In addition, there is a well-laid information dissemination environment due to the increased mobile phones and internet penetration in the country.
